FIRE crews were called a car fire in Birchwood last night, Saturday.
At around 9.45pm, firefighters from Birchwood Fire Station were notified of a car on fire in Locking Stumps Lane.
On arrival, the crew found the vehicle well alight but there was no driver or passengers inside.
The crew stopped traffic as a firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.
The car was then damped down to make it safe and a thermal imaging camera was used.
Firefighters spoke to the owner of the vehicle at the scene.
