A NEW attraction is bounding into Time Square this week aimed at families of all ages.

The Gravity team have been hard at work behind the scenes transforming the temporary Warrington Market unit into a trampoline park and ‘Ninja Run’ obstacle course.

Warrington Guardian:

Creating a mix of 63 full and part-time jobs, it is the 12th venue of a rapidly expanding company and it is launching at 10am on Saturday – in time for half term.

Gravity also includes a soft play centre for under-fives and a Wafflemeister desert bar.

Warrington Guardian:

In a few weeks it will have its own American-style bar called Newton’s too.

Martin Hilton, park manager, said: “It really is the final countdown now so we’re getting super excited.

Warrington Guardian:

"It’s a huge area. As you come in, there are 70 interconnected trampolines then upstairs there is a giant inflatable obstacle course.”

The course is a nod to shows like Ninja Warrior.

Martin added: “It’s similar to that but obviously without the water. So the kids will have to climb over things, duck under things and avoid any obstacles.”

Warrington Guardian:

Youngsters – or parents – can also show off their reaction times and flex their competitive spirit on the likes of the wipe-out machine and light wall.

Martin said: “The wipe-out machine rotates around with two arms. One is at a lower level that you have to jump over and one arm is at a higher level which tries to knock your head.

Warrington Guardian:

“That can go clockwise or anti-clockwise and you can alter the speed depending on who is having a go. With the reaction wall there are flashing lights that you have to tap in a certain order as quickly as possible to get points – all while being on a trampoline.”

Want a quick way back to the trampolines from the obstacle course? Why not take the drop slide – if you dare.

Warrington Guardian:

Martin added: “It makes your toes tingle. With the sheer drop, it’s a bit scary for the adults but we’ve found the kids have no fear. They just go straight down it.”

What goes up must come down – so when you want a break from bouncing you will soon be able to go to Newton’s.

Warrington Guardian:

“That will be right next door to us,” Martin said.

“It’s an American-themed sports bar with some really cool attractions like digital darts and bowling and hopefully it will open in just a few weeks’ time.

Warrington Guardian:

“We want families to become regulars, spend quality time here and create memories.”

Entry to the 32,000sq ft jump park is £12.25 for one hour. It is the same price for children and adults or a family-of-four package is £39.99.

Warrington Guardian:

The minimum age of bouncers is 18 months. Under-fives must go on with an accompanying adult and under-12s must have an adult present.

Martin added: “The maximum age is unlimited. Depending on their childcare arrangements and family bubbles, we’re hoping for grandparents to come along and jump with their grandkids.

Warrington Guardian:

“It’s very family orientated and it’s good for you.

“It’s really good exercise – 10 minutes on the trampolines is equivalent to 30 minutes on a treadmill and it’s a lot more fun.

Warrington Guardian:

“You’ll burn a lot of calories. It’s good for your circulation, stamina, and strength so it’s really good, healthy family fun.”

There will be numerous Covid-19 measures in place including cleaning marshals on hand who will be sanitising the venue’s touch points throughout the day.

The capacity has also been reduced from 130 to 95.

Warrington Guardian:

As well as the ‘open jumps’, Gravity Warrington will be available for the likes of special events, fitness classes and parties.

There will also be regular parent and toddler sessions for £6 per child (one adult free) and sessions for people with special educational needs with no music or flashing lights for £5 per person.

Warrington Guardian:

Martin said: “We want to serve as much of the community as possible.

“We really like being in the new Time Square development. We’re really in the heart of the town centre there. It’s a great location.”

Gravity co-owner Harvey Jenkinson said: “We’re really excited to be launching this site in such a fantastic location. And the activities within the unit are the best we’ve ever done.

Warrington Guardian:

“Clearly, we’ve had to adapt and develop our model to accommodate the ‘new normal’. But our core activities have always been socially distanced by their nature. And the teams on the ground are there to ensure compliance by customers.

Council leader Russ Bowdon added: “Gravity is first class, family-friendly brand, and it’s great news that they are now ready to safely open their new Warrington complex. It will further boost our plans to make Time Square a premier retail and leisure destination, while creating new jobs for people.”
