THE M62 has been closed this morning after fire and a fuel spillage.
A mobile crane caught fire on the westbound carriageway between junction seven at Rainhill and junction six at Tarbock Island at around 7.30am today, Wednesday.
This resulted in 200 litres of fuel from the crane's tank being spilled onto the motorway.
The route remains closed at present, with delays reported back to junction eight at Burtonwood.
Diversions are in place through Widnes, with long delays of up to an hour are reported as a result.
