A CAR has been destroyed by flames after it set on fire in Croft last night, Monday.
Shortly before 7.25pm, firefighters from Birchwood were called to Main Lane and found the vehicle alight.
A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
A dry powder extinguisher was also used.
Once the fire was out the hose reel jet was used to damp down the car and make it safe.
Firefighters were at the scene for nearly an hour.
