EX-Birchwood High School students are making a statement with their own ethical clothing brand.
Frida Waywell and Jack Ratcliffe met at the Brock Road school and are now flying the entrepreneurial flag with their business, Frida, at just 19-years-old.
Jack, a former Birchwood College student, studied business management in the fashion industry at university while Frida chose a degree in fashion.
With Frida’s creativity and Jack’s natural business head, their clothing brand was born with the aim of raising awareness about fashion as a sustainable item.
The pair want their client base think about what they shop for and be aware of the ethical production of clothes.
All their fabrics are GOTS certified and Dyes OEKO Tex certified, making for a range that is organically friendly and totally sustainable.
Even the packaging is made from 100 per cent recycled paper.
Chris Burrows, head of Birchwood college said: "Jack and Frida always stood out as being creative and forward thinking, both with a huge talent for business and enterprise.
"We wish them every success in this joint venture."
The young entrepreneurs do everything themselves, Frida designing, sourcing fabrics and sewing the garments while Jack looks after the marketing, photoshoots, and delivery.
