A WORKER from Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Great Sankey has won the opportunity of a lifetime to visit the Seattle headquarters.

The I Found the Right Place programme invited employees to tell Amazon why it is the right place for them and what they love most about life at Amazon.

Liam, who works at Amazon in Great Sankey as a health and safety co-ordinator, told the story of how working at Amazon has helped him develop in both his personal and professional life.

He will visit the Space Needle and have a tour of Amazon’s global headquarters and a robotics fulfilment centre. During their trip, Liam and his colleagues will meet Amazon’s chief scientist.

He said: “Before I joined Amazon, I was between jobs and had several positions that didn’t really respect my work-life balance. Since joining Amazon, I’ve never felt like I didn’t want to go to work – I always feel positive and motivated for the day ahead.

“I’ve had a lot of good days here but the best day yet has to be when I found out I’d won the trip to Seattle. There are so many people who work here and I didn’t think I’d be the one to win!

“I’m really looking forward to going to Seattle because I’m interested in seeing how Amazon works in the US. It’ll be a great experience for me and I’m excited for the journey ahead.”

Prashant Pandey, site leader at Amazon at Omega added: “I really enjoyed reading the different stories about why people love working at Amazon. We about providing a fun and positive work environment for our employees. I’m excited that Liam will be setting off to Seattle on what will be the trip of a lifetime.”
