WARRINGTON will go to the polls next month at the General Election.

But how is the town split?

In Warrington North, 74,553 people are eligible to vote and in Warrington South, that number is 87,855.

The two constituencies were set up in 1983 as population growth had created lots of unequal constituencies in the area.

Since then, council wards have swapped to try to keep the two area relatively equal.

Broadly Warrington South covers those areas south of the Mersey and the town centre. The North covers the rest.

But Penketh and the Great Sankeys are in the south constituency.

WILL THIS ALWAYS BE THE CASE?

This election came too soon for the current boundary review to be completed.

But because of the growing gap in population between the two constituencies, Latchford East is planned to move to the Warrington North constituency to even it up.
