A MAN suffered minor burns after an explosion at a house in Croft.
Firefighters were called at 3pm yesterday, Friday, to Heath Lane.
A spokesman added: “On arrival crews discovered that there had been an explosion in the kitchen and that all persons were accounted for.
“They also discovered that a man had been injured.
“The area was cordoned off as firefighters worked at the scene.”
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
A spokesman confirmed the injured man had been taken to hospital with minor burns.
Firefighters were at the scene for around two hours and 40 minutes.
A joint fire and police investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the fire.
