FIREFIGHTERS were called to a light aircraft crash in a field near Culcheth yesterday, Sunday.
Shortly after 6pm one fire engine from Northwich and one from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service found that a plane had landed in a tree at Kenyon Hall Farm.
Crews worked to release the pilot and he was passed to the care of North West Ambulance Service.
An air ambulance was sent to the scene along with an ambulance, five rapid response units and three Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) vehicles.
The pilot, a man in his 70s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Warrington Hospital.
The Civil Aviation Authority has been informed.
