BURTONWOOD Post Office will move to a new home in the village library after the plans were given a stamp of approval.
The relocation to Burtonwood Library means that the Post Office will be open for an extra three hours every week.
This follows a consultation where residents were invited to have their say on the proposal.
A date for the relocation is yet to be confirmed but customers are advised to keep checking the current Burtonwood Post Office on Chapel Lane for posters displaying the latest information.
Residents and small business customers will be able to access a range of services including special delivery, local collect, home shopping returns and online banking deposits and withdrawals.
Other services include Post Office Card Account, MoneyGram, paying bills, pre-ordering travel money and insurance referrals and topping up mobile phones.
Suzanne Richardson, Post Office regional manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to residents.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will meet customer needs.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office.”
The branch will be open during Burtonwood Library’s opening hours which are 9am to 5.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 11am to 7pm on Thursdays, 9am to 1pm on Fridays and 9.30am to 1pm on Saturdays.
