A COSMETIC surgeon who works as a consultant at Spire Cheshire Hospital in Stretton is set to appear in this evening's episode of The Real Housewives of Cheshire.
Gerard Lambe, who also works at Reflect Clinic in Manchester and is a spokesman for British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, was seen demonstrating the very latest in cosmetic surgery technology – virtual reality breasts – in last week's episode.
And the 45-year-old will return to the small screen this evening.
"I only expected to be on for a couple of seconds," recalled the dad-of-two, adding he was surprised to find he was a part of one of the biggest storylines of the series when he sat down to watch the show with his wife and 13-year-old daughter.
In last week's show on ITVBe, property developer Dawn Ward is seen with her daughters Darby, 21, and Taylor, 19, having a consultation with Mr Lambe at the Spire Hospital, Manchester.
The surgeon guides the two sisters through the process of using the Crisalix technology – known as ‘boob goggles’ - by scanning the girls’ body image into a computer and taking measurements.
Using the 3D simulator he then demonstrates how he can increase or decrease the breast size on screen by the touch of a button.
He said: "It is a fantastic improvement as previously it was all very rudimentary.
“Before patients would be stuffing their bras with four different cup sizes or filling tights with rice and then they would say I wish I had gone that little bit smaller or bigger.”
Mr Lambe uses the technology not only for cosmetic procedures but as part of his work as a reconstructive surgeon too – working with women who have had breast cancer at Manchester’s world-leading Christie Hospital.
The 45-year-old, who has been on BBC Breakfast to discuss cosmetic surgery, was asked to appear on the show after meeting Dawn through her hysterectomy operation.
“They all came across very much like they do on the show,” he said.
“Taylor and Darby are lovely girls. Dawn is an incredible person who moves at a hundred miles an hour.
“She is hardworking, bright and definitely very clever. They were all very nice and easy to talk to.”
Tune into ITVBe tonight at 10pm.
