Van on fire on M62 to M6 link road near Winwick Road
FIREFIGHTERS were called to reports of a van on fire on the link road between the M62 eastbound and the M6 southbound close to Winwick Road.
One crew from Birchwood Fire Station rushed to the scene at around 2.15pm to tackle the flames.
Firefighters used special cutting equipment to get access to the fire and fight the flames.
The incident caused traffic delays in the area but fortunately no casualties have been reported.
