DIY chain B&Q will be closing its store in the town centre, on Milner Street, before February.
It is part of a shake-up across the country set to impact on up to 60 shops after the company said it can meet the needs of customers from fewer stores.
A spokesman said: "We have let colleagues at our Milner Street store in Warrington know that their store is one of the stores planned for closure this financial year."
B&Q's financial year finishes at the end of January.
