WARRINGTON Hospital's e-rostering team were recognised nationally when they picked up the ‘Highly commended’ award for staff engagement at the 'Allocate annual conference' 2014.
The Lovely Lane team were the only group in the north to be recognised for their work after the A&E department became the first department to implement the new system in May this year.
Health Roster, also known as e-rostering, is an electronic way of efficiently managing when staff are required to work and to ensure wards and departments have the right staff in the right place at the right time.
Since being introduced, the hospital has seen a reduction in the use of bank and agency staff.
Catherine Mellor, project manager, said: "The award has helped raise the profile of e-rostering within the trust plus the acknowledgement of trust –wide efforts the staff put in during implementation and their continued utilisation of the Health Roster capabilities to improve quality and safety to our patients.”
