THE Apprentice runner up Neil Clough will step up to the challenge of gruelling 64 km race in aid of the Foundation for Peace later this month.

The former Woolston High School pupil, who made it to the final five in the BBC series in 2013, will run 19.5km, mountain cycle 42.5km and kayak 2km as part of the Gaelforce challenge in Ireland.

The course takes competitors to the most remote parts of Donegal, through the deep valleys of Glenveagh, forest tracks and sandy beaches.

Neil said: “The foundation is very close to my heart as I was the same age as Tim and also lived in Warrington so could have easily been in the town centre the day of the bombing.

“I do exercise most days and I am pretty fit but I’ve never competed in anything as challenging as this.”
