A LEARNER driver yet to pass his test has been fined after admitting to drink driving.
Jimmy Titus Popoola, aged 34, of Whitegate Avenue, Culcheth, was caught by police behind the wheel after drinking despite only having a provisional licence.
Halton Magistrates Court heard on Thursday how Popoola was breathlaysed and found to be twice over the legal limit.
Katherine Whincup, prosecuting, said he had been driving his brother’s car in the early hours of January 19, on Warrington Road.
The father-of-four, who works with vulnerable adults, pleaded guilty to drink driving.
He also pleaded guilty to driving other than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance.
Popoola was banned from driving for 20 months.
He was also fined £470, and told to pay £85 costs and a £25 victim surcharge.
