A LABOUR reshuffle has seen Warrington North MP Helen Jones promoted to shadow home office minister by party leader Ed Miliband.
The former shadow minister for communities and local government was offered the role on Tuesday.
Her new responsibilities will include becoming the Labour party’s lead on issues including domestic violence and violence against women while working closely alongside shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper.
Mrs Jones said: “I am delighted to be joining Yvette’s team at the Home Office, a role which I am sure will bring lots of new challenges.
“Crime and anti-social behaviour are topics that are often raised with me when I am out and about in Warrington North.
“This is a very important role to be shadowing and I am looking forward to getting on with the job.”
