WITH wise words from his parents staying with him through the years it has helped cement Nigel Garner’s place as a worthy winner of the Contribution To The Community in the Warrington Inspiration Awards category.
Nigel set up the Moore Foundation which works with small groups across the borough to help give them that vital funding to keep them offering services which are important for many.
And he has also helped countless young people find their way in the world through offering apprenticeships at Moore Finance, where he is chairman.
Nigel, from Appleton, said: “I was taught by my parents ‘it’s important to be nice, not just nice to be important’.
“It’s about getting involved in the community and seeing whether there is a group who need help with funding.”
The Moore Foundation was set up 10 years ago and has gone from strength to strength offering help to others thanks to a range of fundraising events.
“It’s a fantastic honour to be recognised for stuff you do every day. It’s a very humbling experience,” added Nigel. “I couldn’t do it without the hard work of the team and the love of my family.”
