WARRINGTON Town started the new campaign in less than ideal fashion, losing at home to newly-promoted Morpeth Town.

Despite long periods of pressure, they succumbed to a Morpeth side who were supremely organised at the back and clinical going forward.

Sean Reid's superb long-range volley and Jack Foalle's counter-attacking goal either side of half-time put Morpeth in control and it proved decisive.

Mark Roberts pulled a goal back from a set piece and Town hammered on the door for an equaliser, but conceded a third late on via the same avenue with Ben Harmison adding the finishing touch.
