A spokesman said: "At half time a man, believed to be a Warrington supporter, approached two security men who were wearing dark suits and ear pieces, and were with a steward in a high visibility jacket.

"This man was trying to bring to the attention of the officials something which was occurring in the corporate area. He was pointing to that area as he spoke and was heard to say “You have got to sort this out”.

"This man is described as around 60 years of age, white, with grey hair. He was wearing a yellow polo shirt and light blue shorts.

"If anyone knows this man could he contact the Warrington club or the RFL as it is believed he may have information to help with the investigation into the disorder at the end of the game.

"Further to the above the investigators would like to speak to Angie Dawn Bradshaw and Adam Anderson re information they have published on social media. Once again could they or anyone who knows them contact Warrington Wolves or the RFL."

The RFL says the probe will review evidence from a range of sources, including video evidence obtained from broadcasters inside the ground in Perpignan and posted online.

The Warrington Guardian understands the probe will not be concluded until after the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley.
